How it works?
WordDecryptor allows you to reset your document passwords, but doesn't recover the passwords which these MS Word files are protected with.
WordDecryptor's algorithms are based on that fact that protected *.dot and *.doc files are encrypted with short fixed length "encryption keys" which are recovered by this program. These keys allow our tool to decrypt protected documents without the original passwords.

Is it possible to recover original MS Word "password to open"?
There are many passwords valid for a file which may not be valid for another file protected with the same original password. Root cause for that is the verification based on document's "encryption key". This key is relatively short and generated from the original password mixed with file-specific random data. Fortunately, many files are protected with "write-protection" password equal to the "password to open" and WordDecryptor allows you to instantly recover these passwords from decrypted files.
