Some advanced functions were added to File Own Guard version 2.0.
DOS shell-like command line with “wildcards” option is the main of them.
Please, be careful with this functionality – deletion cannot be undone!
Command line syntax:
"Full FOG Path" /del "File" – to delete file
"Full FOG Path" /del "Folder" – to delete folder
"Full FOG Path" /del "wildcard file or folder name" – to delete file or folder using wildcards
where “Full FOG Path” is the full path to the FOG exe file, by default "C:\Program Files\Thegrideon Software\File Own Guard\FileOwnGuard.exe"
“File” ,”Folder”, “wildcard” is the full or short path to file, folder to delete.
"Full FOG Path" /del:alg_num "File, Folder or wildcard path"
same as above, but you can specify the deletion algorithm.
alg_num – deletion algorithm to use (you can find full list below)
Command-line examples:
"C:\Program Files\Thegrideon Software\File Own Guard\FileOwnGuard.exe" /del "C:\Temp\*.log"
– FOG will securely delete all *.log files from “C:\Temp” using current deletion algorithm.
"C:\Program Files\Thegrideon Software\File Own Guard\FileOwnGuard.exe" /del:3 "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\*.tmp"
- FOG will securely delete all *.tmp files from “C:\Temp” using third deletion algorithm.
Note: FOG doesn’t support recursive deletion of the files. No files in subfolders will be deleted. This feature will be added to the next version of FOG.
Deletion algorithms to use:
0 "Using Air Force System Security Instructions, 5020"
1 "Using Navy Staff Office Publication, NAVSO P-5239-26 (Alt Met)"
2 "Using Navy Staff Office Publication, NAVSO P-5239-26 (RLL)"
3 "Using Navy Staff Office Publication, NAVSO P-5239-26 (MFM)"
4 "Using U.S.Department of Defense Sanitizing, DoD 5220.22-M"
5 "Using German Standard, VSITR"
6 "Using Bruce Schneier algorithm"
7 "Using Peter Gutmann algorithm"
