hi

i need to open an access 2003 file but i do not have the workgroup info file.

The database file is not password protected, but i get the: "You do not have the necessary permissions to use the <name> object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you. (Error 3033)"

will i be able to open the file with access password recovery pro?

many thanks

dena

Hello,

Yes, Access Password Pro allows you to recover objects/database owners user names and ids, and as the result you can recreate your lost Workgroup information file (*.mdw) and access protected database.

I'm using Access 2007 and from what i understand from the forums is that i would have to install office 2003 and recreate it from the "workgroup" options (which i really don't want to do)

is there a way i can go about recreating them in Access 2007?

thanks,
dena

The best way to open user-level secured database is to use MS Access version database was created in. All export/conversion operations are very user-level rights dependant and there is no way to predict how your current access rights will affect these operations.

If it is just one database you can use our service to unprotect your database:

there's actually 6 databases totaling 120MB. I guess i have no choice but to install access 2003, and try to recreate the workgroup file.

i used your demo software to view some parts of the file (amazing tool). if i'm unable to do restore them i will definitely purchase the Pro version.

thank you soo much for all your help!!

I am a Pro user, and when i read thu the forum, most of the time need to send the db file to you guy in order to remove the user-level permission "by hand". I know it is a perfect service level, but the problem is what if i got 100s of db i need to recovered from? If there are a easy way to remove the "user-level" permission, it will be good news for me, thank for your help.

Hello,

There is no "by hand" or "secret" procedure to unprotect or just open user-level secured database. We use the same procedure as you can see in Access Password help file. The only difference is we are doing it every day.

Moreover "support" and "service" are two different things. Support is free and we ask for a file just to verify or check what is wrong with it (or to help somebody with very old (Access 2.0 for example) or with just one database and no MS Access experience). As to the service it is service with per file fee... We just unprotect anything for you.

So the best way is to send us your log information (Access Password log) for 1 or 2 databases to our e-mail, so we can advise you something.

It is rights distribution problem. Your database was configured with mutually exclusive access rights for admin and ‘JC’ user most probably in previous version of MS Access. It is also possible that there is no user with enough rights to open this database and read it content (for example admin has right to open, but no rights to read or write, and another user has rights to read/write, but no rights to open – such a contradiction settings is some times a result of VBA or custom database management).
As a result such a configuration prevents database transfer and usage on another computer or system.

The best way to help you with this database is to clear permission parameters “by hand”.What is the file size and is it possible to send it for examination?
We guarantee you full confidentiality. The information resent will be securely deleted right after being examined.

Actually, I have the same problem like another user quoted above. I have the right to open the database based on your procedures, but. And i got a blank screen on the opened Database, there is nothing i can do on the menu bar and short cut keys.
How can i send you the Access Password Log for further investigation?

Hello,

1) As to blank screen and no menu - it is completely different problem from the above. This is part of VBA related protection (AllowFullMenus, StartupShowDBWindow, etc). You can try to hold "Shift" key (MS Access bypass key) during database startup to bypass this kind of protection and VBA script startup. There is also AllowBypassKey option in MS Access - it is trickier to remove. Anyway it is not related to user-level security or Access Password tool functionality.

2) You can send your log using the following page:
