I'm not good at this thing but all I know is that I need to change the form layout of this access file that I'm working on but the previous employee (seem to had full access to everything). Anyway, when I try to get into design view it says that "You don't have permission to read 'XXX form'.
This is what I got from the Access Password application:
7/1/2006 - 7:08:45 AM Program started successfully [Registered, Pro version 1.6]
7/1/2006 - 7:08:52 AM Trying to open Access Database file: C:\Documents and Settings\Someone SomeOne\My Documents\Contacts.mdb
7/1/2006 - 7:08:52 AM Determining your file type...
7/1/2006 - 7:08:52 AM Opened file is Access 2000 / 2002(XP) / 2003 Database...
7/1/2006 - 7:08:52 AM NOTE: All information in log window is in ANSI encoding!
7/1/2006 - 7:08:52 AM Unicode passwords; names; UserIDs should be taken out from dialogs boxes...
7/1/2006 - 7:08:52 AM Trying to recover Access Database password...
7/1/2006 - 7:08:52 AM Access Database password has been found: problem1
7/1/2006 - 7:08:53 AM There is non-standard elements owner in Database:
7/1/2006 - 7:08:53 AM User 'okaydmin' with ID = '1234abcd' (without quotes)
7/1/2006 - 7:08:53 AM User 'Karensassist' with ID = 'Iljfw47ngqAyPWO6ZLg' (without quotes)
7/1/2006 - 7:08:53 AM User 'Kathy' with ID = '6j5k7k33drf40' (without quotes)
7/1/2006 - 7:08:53 AM User 'Kavita' with ID = 'KMrKEUavBiSmdtSgWDr' (without quotes)
7/1/2006 - 7:08:53 AM User 'Sophia' with ID = 'snvonfKFH730Jkkhlqwd' (without quotes)
7/1/2006 - 7:08:53 AM User 'KeyDataManager' with ID = 'abdication476' (without quotes)
7/1/2006 - 7:08:53 AM User 'User01' with ID = '0G1nAFSqIhboIKTanVz' (without quotes)
7/1/2006 - 7:08:53 AM User 'user01' with ID = 'edds87L8yNbPvmB147P' (without quotes)
Can anybody tell me how can I use one of those different passwords? I don't get to choose when I log in (as somebody else.) When I open the file it only asks for a password.
Thanks,

Hello,
1) Your database is user-lever protected. Several objects in your database are accessible and manageable by assigned user only.
2) Please also note that User ID is not a password – it is MS Access way to protect workgroup information file from replacement, etc. And this is the only way to recover lost or corrupted Workgroup information file (*.mdw). As far as your mdw file is ok – you don’t need it. If it is lost - just notify us and we will send you instructions how to recreate it (or you can find these instructions in Access Password help).
3) Login information (user login / passwords pairs) is stored in mdw file. You have to open your Workgroup information file (*.mdw, system.mdw) and not the database in order to recover login information. You will find several ways (try it one by one, please) to find your mdw file below:
First way to find your current mdw database:
1) Please start your MS Access without any database. (For example: Start – Programs – Microsoft Office – MS Access)
2) Click main menu “Tools” than “Security” – “Workgroup Administrator”
3) You will see Workgroup Administration dialog and current System.mdw path as well
Second way to find current mdw database:
1) Start Windows Explorer. (For example: Start – All Programs – Accessories – Windows Explorer)
2) Press Search Toolbar button or press F3.
3) Select “Local Hard Drives…” as “Look in”.
4) Type “*.mdw” (without quotes) in to “search for files or folders names” field.
5) Click “Search Now” and wait for results.
Just open found mdw file in Access Password and you will see log-in passwords and user names. |
